Castello

Birra Castello SpA represents one of the few independent Italian entrepreneurial groups in the brewing sector. Since 2006, the San Giorgio di Nogaro (Udine) plant has been added to the historic Pedavena (Belluno) plant, founded in 1897. Today the company is present in the market with the brands Birra Castello, Fabbrica di Pedavena, Superior and Birra Dolomiti. The experience and know-how of over one hundred years of local brewing tradition have been revisited by the new management in the light of modern management and control techniques.

And so in 2012 the company decided to implement rail transport to reduce the impact of its carbon dioxide pollution. In that year it opened the rail link to send a monthly train of products from the Interporto of Cervignano to the stations of Catania and Bari.

Reducing emissions from transport has been the watchword of Birra Castello for years, which in 2013 also signed a voluntary agreement with the Ministry of the Environment to promote joint projects aimed at analysing and reducing the CO2 footprint.
